Sanlam Kenya Plc has officially unveiled its new identity as Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC, a strategic move that positions the firm at the heart of Africa’s largest non-banking financial services alliance.
The rebrand cements a recent joint venture between global financial giants Sanlam and Allianz, creating a powerhouse with over 200 years of combined experience.
The newly formed SanlamAllianz now operates in 26 countries and commands a combined total group equity value of over 33 billion South African Rand (approximately €2 billion).SanlamAllianz Kenya Group CEO, Dr. Nyamemba Patrick Tumbo, confirmed the change, stating the new name reflects a deep-seated commitment to elevating financial services across the continent while maintaining a sharp local focus.
“This rebrand heralds a new dawn for us,” Dr. Tumbo said. “It enhances our corporate commitment to advance our market effectiveness in the provision of quality, client-focused life and general insurance products.”
He reiterated that the firm will leverage the joint venture’s extensive resources to enhance client experience and distribution through innovative, technology-driven solutions.
The company’s core subsidiaries, Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Kenya and Sanlam Allianz General Insurance Kenya, will continue under the leadership of Ms. Jacqueline Karasha and Mr. George Kuria, respectively.
Echoing this vision, SanlamAllianz CEO Heinie Werth affirmed the group’s full support for the Kenyan operation. “Our ambition as SanlamAllianz is to be among the top-three players in all our markets,” Werth stated.
He emphasized that the local team will pursue this goal through a “shared value” approach with staff, clients, and communities.
