Airtel Africa Teams Up with Top African Artists

Airtel Africa, a leading telecommunications and mobile money service provider operating in 14 African nations, has teamed up with three globally recognized African artists: Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Simi from Nigeria. This collaboration aims to encourage customers to improve their digital experience by maximizing the benefits of their data bundles.

This partnership seeks to empower Airtel Africa customers to make better-informed choices regarding their data usage. The artists have joined forces with Airtel Africa to produce a unique song that offers practical advice and resources, guiding customers on how to optimize their data for everyday activities, including internet browsing, streaming, and utilizing essential applications.

This partnership is incorporated into the ongoing #SmartaWithData campaign, which focuses on educating customers about effective data usage and management.

The initiative encourages Airtel Africa users to GET smarter data settings, SET optimized data speeds, and GO #SmartaWithData to enhance their digital experience.

The edutainment campaign is currently being implemented across seven African countries—Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, and Malawi—targeting young customers aged 18 to 35.

Speaking on the campaign, Rohit Marwha, the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Airtel Africa, expressed, “We aim to help our customers maximize their Airtel data bundles to improve their online experience. By partnering with popular artists whom our customers connect with regularly, we ensure they are informed about these data hacks. This approach allows for the easy adoption of effective data usage and management through clear and relatable messaging.”

The #SmartWithData campaign launched by Airtel Africa provides customers with valuable tips for optimizing their data usage and invites them to participate by sharing their own suggestions. Customers can conveniently access all data bundles through USSD, the Airtel Lite platform, or the MyAirtel App.
