Aspiring MP Urbanus Wambua Declares War on Ruto, Endorses Kalonzo for 2027

By Eddah Waithaka

In a fiery press statement, Urbanus Wambua, popularly known as Kana, launched a broadside against President William Ruto’s administration and threw his weight behind a unified opposition front for the 2027 elections.

Wambua, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Kibwezi West, spoke to reporters after what he described as the official launch of the “presidential bid” for the Wiper Democratic Front.

He explicitly endorsed Kalonzo Musyoka as the opposition’s consensus candidate.“We have officially endorsed him as our presidential candidate come 2027,” Wambua stated. “We have officially launched his bid.”

The aspiring lawmaker aligned himself with a coalition of opposition leaders, including Jubilee’s Jeremiah Kioni and Eugene Wamalwa.

He praised this group for declaring Kalonzo Musyoka as the flag bearer to challenge President Ruto, whom he repeatedly referred to as “Kasongo.”

“We have agreed that we are going to come out clearly as one team because we have to get one candidate who is going to face Kasongo,” Wambua said, framing the next election as a direct battle to “take Kasongo home.”

Wambua then issued a stark warning to political leaders from the Eastern region who skipped the event. He claimed that most Members of Parliament had succumbed to financial inducements from the government.

“Whoever has not attended today’s function… the people of Eastern region will never elect them as their members of parliament,” he declared. “They have been bought well by Kasongo… they can only aspire for any political seat in Ndhiwa, in Suna, or within their regions.”

He assured his supporters that the Eastern region would vote as a bloc for Kalonzo Musyoka.Concluding his remarks, Wambua directly thanked the people of Kibwezi West for their trust.

“We are going to rescue our country from the hands of one Kasongo and his associates,” he vowed.
