AXA Global Healthcare is charging into Kenya’s booming international private medical insurance (IPMI) market, announcing an exclusive partnership with Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya and Executive Healthcare Solutions (EHS) to expand access to world-class health coverage.
This powerful trio is aligning to capture opportunities in a Kenyan IPMI market projected to grow by more than 10% annually, fueled by rising demand for quality healthcare and cross-border medical acce ss.
Effective 1 October 2025, the partnership tasks Executive Healthcare Solutions as the exclusive distributor of AXA Global Healthcare policies in Kenya, with Old Mutual providing the local insurance backing.
The collaboration merges AXA’s global reach with deep local expertise, cementing Kenya’s role as a pivotal hub for international health insurance in Africa.
Executives Chart a Course for Growth
Leaders from all three organizations highlighted the strategic fit of the alliance.
“This partnership powerfully advances our mission to provide accessible and customer-focused healthcare protection to a dynamic, globally connected population in Kenya,” said Japheth Ogalloh, Managing Director of Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya.
Karim Idilby, Chief Growth Officer at AXA Global Healthcare, called the collaboration a “major milestone” in the company’s global strategy and long-term commitment to Africa.
“Old Mutual’s leadership in Kenya and East Africa makes them an ideal partner as we target the high-growth Individuals and SMEs segments,” Idilby stated.
Delivering Tailored Solutions with Local Precision
The partnership will offer the Global Executive Health Plan (GEHP), a product tailored for individuals and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
It provides seamless access to international medical care while ensuring full compliance with Kenyan laws and industry standards.
Aly Maherali, CEO of Executive Healthcare Solutions, emphasized the value for clients. “Our exclusive collaboration with AXA allows us to offer solutions backed by a trusted global brand, giving our clients confidence in today’s complex healthcare landscape,” Maherali said.

The agreement also includes the renewal-based transfer of EHS’s existing IPMI customer portfolio across several African markets to this new scheme.
