The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) officially presented Hon. Joab Manyasi as its candidate for the Malava Constituency by-election during a ceremony at the party’s Karen headquarters on Friday, 1st August 2025.
A civil engineer, youth advocate, and seasoned public servant, Manyasi has deep roots in Malava. He previously vied for the parliamentary seat in 2017 under Ford Kenya and in 2022 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
With experience working in Kenya and Uganda, he brings grassroots insight and a development-focused agenda to his campaign.
DNA Party Leader Hon. Godfrey Kanoti declared, “We are offering not just a candidate, but a movement. Hon. Manyasi represents our party’s values, and Malava deserves leadership that prioritizes their needs.”
In his acceptance speech, Manyasi vowed to champion ordinary citizens, stating, “I come from Malava’s soil. I have faced the same struggles unfulfilled promises, poor roads, and unemployment. This campaign is about restoring dignity through action, not words. I will fight for farmers, women, and youth.”
The by-election follows a vacancy declared by the IEBC, with a date expected soon. DNA pledged an issue-based campaign centered on grassroots engagement.
The event ended with the symbolic handover of the party’s flag, officially launching Manyasi’s bid.
