Top finance professionals from across Africa will converge in Mombasa this December to tackle the continent’s most pressing challenges, placing artificial intelligence, ethics, and the race to net zero at the heart of their agenda.
The fifth ACCA Africa Members Convention (AMC2025) will host hundreds of members and leaders under the theme ‘Leading an Evolved Profession for a Changed World.’
The event, running from 3 to 5 December at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, will equip attendees with the insights and strategies to lead Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
“Africa’s Agenda 2063 aspires to a prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development,” said Jamil Ampomah, ACCA’s Director for Africa, at a media roundtable in Nairobi.
“We as finance professionals must lead this transformation to drive sustainability, promote social value, and sharpen our cutting-edge financial and ethical skills for the Africa We Want.”

The convention’s critical discussions will span mental health management, diversity and inclusion, and risk in public procurement.
These conversations will directly support ACCA’s ongoing redesign of its flagship qualification, which aims to expand the role of accountants to combine profitability with ethics, sustainability, and technological agility.
George Njari, ACCA Head of East Africa Cluster, highlighted the public sector’s pivotal role. “New technologies like data analytics and AI can dramatically improve efficiency and promote transparency,” Njari stated.
“Professionals must now assess emerging risks and build robust governance frameworks to help governments navigate these changes.”
The convention will also serve as the stage for the prestigious 2025 Africa Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) Awards. On 4 December, the awards will honour CFOs whose strategic leadership drives innovation, sustainable growth, and business resilience across the continent.
This biennial convention provides a crucial platform for finance professionals to shape global strategy, address regional issues, and build the powerful networks that will fuel Africa’s sustainable and ethical evolution.
ACCA the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is the global professional body for professional accountants, offering business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance, and management.
