The event, dubbed *Guchi’s Karibu Kenya*, marked the beginning of a highly anticipated visit aimed at strengthening ties between the artist, her Nigerian record label, and her passionate Kenyan fanbase.

“This is *Guchi Karibu Kenya*! Say it with me, everyone!” exclaimed Nyaga, setting the tone for the lively gathering. He emphasized the collaborative effort between Mawahida Africa and BG Records to bring Gucci to Kenya, highlighting the importance of cross-border partnerships in the African music industry.

Anita Amambo, Chief of Operations for BG Records, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We’re a record label based in Lagos, Nigeria, but we’re also Africans. It’s important for us to expand our relationships across the continent.

Kenya has shown us immense love, especially on Gucci’s social media platforms, and we’re here to cultivate that connection further.” Guchi’s manager, Patrick Onwebu, expressed excitement about the trip, noting the overwhelming support from Kenyan fans. “We’re here to connect with the fans, enjoy Kenya, have fun, eat local food, and explore the culture.

Personally, I’m here for Ugali!” he joked, sparking laughter and cheers from the audience. Guchi herself took the stage to share her enthusiasm. “I’ve been getting so much love from Kenyans. They’re not shy to say how much they love me, and it’s only right that I show them the same love,” she said. The artist revealed that her fans had flooded her social media with suggestions for her visit, from riding a *matatu* to visiting local beaches.

Reflecting on her previous experience in Kenya, which she described as “not so cool,” Guchi acknowledged past challenges but emphasized her commitment to moving forward. “It took a while to get over that experience, but I realized it wasn’t the fault of the fans. This time, it’s all about love and connection,” she said.

Nyaga also addressed the importance of collaboration within the music industry, urging stakeholders to work together rather than operating in silos.

“What happened to Guchi the last time was unfortunate. If we had collaborated better behind the scenes, things might have gone differently. Let’s not be one-man armies; let’s work together to elevate African music,” he advised.

The event concluded with a call for unity and celebration, as Guchi’s and her team prepare to immerse themselves in Kenyan culture, connect with fans, and explore potential collaborations.

With the hashtag *GuchiKaribuKenya* already trending on social media, the visit promises to be a milestone in fostering pan-African musical and cultural exchange.
