Professor Fred Ogola, a founding member of the Hapa Alliance Party (HAPA), has unveiled the party’s transformative EVOLVE economic blueprint, promising a welfare state that prioritizes healthcare, education, and economic inclusion for all Kenyans.
Speaking during a press conference, Ogola declared, “Kenya has only two tribes, the looted and the looters. When the looted unite, the looters, who are the minority, will have no place in leadership.”
A Party for the People, Not Briefcase Politics
Ogola criticized Kenya’s political landscape, where “party tickets and checkbooks are kept under mattresses”, vowing that HAPA will democratize leadership.
“We won’t operate like someone’s kiosk where aspirants carry briefcases of money to get a ticket,” he said.
The party will allow grassroots democracy to decide nominees from the presidency to the Member of County Assembly (MCA) level, eliminating backroom deals.
EVOLVE: The Blueprint for Kenya’s Turnaround
The APA’s economic model, EVOLVE, focuses on six key elements to drive sustainable growth and development. First, it aims for Economic Turnaround by reviving stalled sectors such as textiles, dairy, tourism, and cooperatives.
Second, it emphasizes Value Generation through the enhancement of mining, the digital economy, and small businesses. Third, Optimizing Talent involves investing in youth, women, and technologies like AI, sports, and the arts.
Fourth, the model promotes Leverage Partnerships by attracting investors with transparent governance practices. Fifth, it addresses Vulnerability Management to protect marginalized groups and regions from economic shocks.
Finally, Environmental Stewardship focuses on creating green jobs, advancing reforestation efforts, and fostering climate resilience.
“Kenya First” Foreign Policy
Ogola slammed “economic colonialism”, where foreign firms repatriate profits while Kenyans remain jobless.
“Why do we service government vehicles at Toyota Kenya, sending Sh6 billion yearly to Japan, then borrow from the same country?” he questioned.
HAPA will prioritize local contractors, demand technology transfer, and block exploitative trade deals.
“We call upon all Kenyans to EVOLVE with HAPA,” Ogolla declared, urging citizens to join the movement for “a government that works for the people, not the elite.”
The party has opened registration for aspirants and supporters, promising a new era of pro-people leadership.
