Huawei Kenya and a coalition of partners today demonstrated how digital innovation can revolutionize learning, hosting a hands-on Smart Classroom Workshop for representatives from 20 Muslim schools across the country.
Held at the Huawei Exhibition Room in partnership with Hiperdist, KCB Bank, and Digion/Smatrace Solutions Ltd., the event immersed educators in the Huawei Smart Classroom Solution.
Attendees participated in interactive demonstrations and collaborative sessions, exploring how to integrate the digital platform to boost interactivity and accessibility in their institutions.
“At Huawei, we believe technology should be an equalizer,” stated Maureen Mwaniki, Public Affairs Director at Huawei Kenya. “Our Smart Classroom Solution is designed not just to digitize education, but to democratize it, ensuring students from all backgrounds have access to world-class learning environments.”
The workshop produced an immediate commitment, with Steadfast Academy announcing it will implement the solution and serve as a reference school for others to follow.
A key partner in the initiative, KCB Bank, underscored its focus on future-ready education. “We are passionate about the transformative power of technology,” said Ms. Virginia Mwangi, SME Specialist at KCB.
“By embracing innovation, we aim to unlock new opportunities, bridge gaps, and empower the next generation to thrive in a digital future.”
This effort builds on tangible momentum from Huawei’s broader push for digital inclusion. Earlier this year, the company and its partners completed Phase II of the Kenya DigiSchool Connectivity Project, bringing high-speed internet to 21 schools, including six institutions for learners with special needs.
An evaluation of the program’s first phase revealed compelling results: 98% of students reported the internet met their educational needs, 84% found learning more engaging, and 71% gained a better understanding of complex concepts.
Powered by Huawei’s global TECH4ALL initiative, the ongoing work aligns directly with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on quality education, reduced inequalities, and industry innovation.
By fostering partnerships and showcasing scalable technology, the event highlighted a clear path to building a more inclusive, digitally empowered generation of Kenyan learners.
