KCB FC is set to pursue a crucial win as they take on AFC Leopards in a mid-week Kenya Premier League match at the Sportpesa Arena in Murang’a County tomorrow. Currently positioned third in the league standings following a 1-1 draw with City Stars, the bankers are eager to regain their winning momentum against eighth-placed Ingwe.
Head Coach Patrick Odhiambo has cautioned his players against complacency ahead of the eagerly awaited match. He emphasized the importance of being decisive in front of goal in order to secure the crucial three points.
“AFC Leopards is a top side. We all know their capability and we do not doubt it, so we have to be on top of our game tomorrow to register the maximum points. Of course we have to keep winning games to ensure that we remain top and probably clinch the title at the end of the season,” noted Odhiambo.

Kenyan international Haniff Wesonga is likely to sit out the upcoming match due to a knee injury, with the dependable Francis Oduor stepping in to fill his role in central defense.
Maurice Ojwang is unavailable as he serves a suspension for accumulating five yellow cards. Upfront, the team’s leading scorer Francis Kahiro will team up with Philemon Nyakwakwa, while James Kinyanjui and Stephen Etyang will take their positions on the wings. In midfield, the in-form Michael Mutinda will play alongside Farraj Ominde.
“I am happy because we are regaining our confidence. If you look at how we are training, the boys are showcasing a strong desire to keep winning games. Everyone is working so hard to ensure that we position this club as one of the best in the league,” said captain Michael Mutinda.
During the January transfer window, long-serving player Brian ‘Rio’ Ochieng left KCB alongside fullback Herrit Mungai and Henry Ochieng.
