Maisha Magic Plus will launch Sarabi, a gripping new drama series exploring love, betrayal, and redemption, on Monday, 24 February 2025. The show will air at 7:30 PM on DStv channel 163 and GOtv channel 3, with new episodes releasing every Monday to Wednesday.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the fictional Vuno Zuri Coffee Farm, Sarabi follows Matthew MacOdimba, a coffee picker who falls in love with Annabel, the daughter of the plantation owners.
Their romance faces a devastating blow when Annabel’s mother, Rita, intervenes, leaving both to navigate feelings of heartbreak and betrayal. Two decades later, fate reunites them as successful professionals. Together, they must confront life’s challenges and decide whether to rekindle their love or let history repeat itself.
The series features a stellar cast, including acclaimed actors Tonny Njuguna (Subterranea) as Matthew and Wanjiku Waweru (Salem) as Annabel. They are joined by Marrianne Nungo (Supa Modo, Pepeta), Georgina Gachanja (Big Girls Small World), Simon Thuo (Domina), Faith Wanjiku, and Kirumburu Nganga (Salem).

Producer Lwal Griffin of Reel Pix Media shared the inspiration behind the series: “Sarabi was born out of a profound desire to delve into the complexities of love, legacy, and the bonds that define us. It explores the idea that love can be a mirage—an illusion shaped by our perceptions and circumstances. Yet, in all its forms, love transcends time, revealing both its fragility and its power.”
Griffin added, “The series also highlights a growing phenomenon in today’s families: the identity crisis that arises when we lose touch with our roots, becoming strangers to our own relatives. In such disconnection, unintended relationships can form, bringing unforeseen consequences.”
Margaret Mathore, Head of Channels at M-Net, expressed pride in the partnership with Reel Pix Media. “Sarabi is a compelling story about family, heritage, and the enduring power of our roots. It reminds us that our roots are not just where we come from; they are the foundation of who we are. We are proud to share this important story with our viewers.”
Don’t miss the premiere of Sarabi on Monday, 24 February 2025, at 7:30 PM, exclusively on Maisha Magic Plus. Tune in to witness a tale of love, legacy, and the unbreakable ties that bind us.
