MultiChoice Kenya has clinched multiple accolades at the 2025 Women in Film Awards (WIFA), solidifying its position as a powerhouse in African storytelling.
The company’s productions, aired on Maisha Magic and Showmax, swept key categories at the prestigious event, which honors exceptional contributions by women in the film and television industry.
Now in its sixth year, WIFA celebrates excellence in directing, producing, scriptwriting, cinematography, and other critical roles.
This year’s ceremony, held on Saturday, spotlighted MultiChoice Kenya’s unwavering commitment to empowering women in the creative sector.
The night shone brightly for MultiChoice as Abigail Arunga of ‘4Play’ secured the Best Scriptwriter – TV Drama award for her work on Showmax’s adult drama.
Yvonne Wanjiku also took home the Best Scriptwriter – Film award for ‘When the Gods Argue’. MultiChoice Talent Factory alumni Linda Dina (Class of 2024) and Audrey Egesa (Class of 2022) further elevated the company’s success.

Dina won Best Sound Designer, while Egesa claimed the Best Newcomer Producer trophy for their Maisha Magic projects. Nzola Miranda, Managing Director of MultiChoice Kenya, emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering opportunities for women in film.
“We are incredibly proud to see our productions and talented teams recognized at the Women in Film Awards. This reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting inclusivity and gender equality in the film industry. We will continue to support and amplify the incredible work of women in film, ensuring their stories are told, heard, and celebrated,” Miranda stated.
