I am sounding an alarm, we are on the edge of an abyss and moving fast in the wrong direction, we must all wake up and demand truth, accountability and justice,” Wanjigi said.

Asserting his stance, the Safina party leader contended that the abductions and killings were the direct responsibility of the current government led by President William Ruto.

For the avoidance of doubt, the president is solely responsible for the abductions, disappearances and murders of the young people of this country,” he asserted.

He further emphasized that the alleged abductions, disappearances and extrajudicial killings observed in the country are tactics used by the government to instill fear in the Kenyan people.

The political figure highlighted the Inspector General of Police of the constitutional mandate to operate independently and to respect human rights.

Commenting on the President’s pledge to dismantle the network behind the abductions and disappearances, Wanjigi told the press that the President’s commitment was insincere and that he was mocking the affected families.

‘’President Ruto is hypocritically mocking, laughing and demeaning the abducted whose loved ones are crying daily,’’ he said.

Wanjigi emphasized to the president the importance of governing in alignment with the oath taken to serve the nation conscientiously, ensuring justice and adherence to the law.

‘’Regrettably, today it can be confirmed that President Ruto has not only violated the constitution but also contravened the oath of office he took,’’ he added.
