By Eddah Waithaka

Prudential Life Kenya will power the 5KM Family Run at this year’s Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon with a Ksh. 10 million sponsorship, reaffirming its commitment to community health and resilience.

This 2025 sponsorship marks the insurer’s third consecutive year supporting the popular family race. Prudential will also serve as the official life insurer for the event, protecting all runners and allowing them to focus squarely on the finish line.

“We sponsor the Family Run because it aligns with our vision of promoting healthier lifestyles through active living,” said Prudential Kenya CEO Gwen Kinisu.

“The 5KM run allows parents, children, and loved ones to run side by side, making it a true celebration of family and community. It also supports the incredible work of Standard Chartered’s Futuremakers initiative.”

The financial boost will ensure the marathon delivers a memorable experience while championing family wellness.

“This sponsorship from Prudential Life will go a long way in executing the marathon and supporting an active lifestyle for families,” said Joyce Kibe, Standard Chartered’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing for Kenya and Africa.

“With Ksh.130 million from the Bank, we anticipate creating a great race experience that increases social impact milestones in our communities through our Futuremakers Initiative.”

The global Futuremakers program empowers youth with skills and opportunities. To date, the initiative has equipped 90,679 girls with life skills through sports, supported over 54,000 youth with employability training, and created 1,380 jobs through supported businesses.

Scheduled for 26th October 2025, the Stanchart Marathon remains Kenya’s largest single-day sporting event, uniting professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and families from across the nation.
