The partnership, worth Kes 200,000 over four months, and a memorandum of understanding signed to provide the organisation with food for the same period, will ensure that over 80 children affiliated to the Foundation receive the nutrition they need to stay energized and motivated in school.

Through this initiative, Rockey Africa Limited and the Jewell Souls Foundation will work together to provide consistent meals for children and promote a healthier learning environment. This programme aims to address the pressing issue of child hunger, which has a significant impact on school attendance and academic performance.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Carol Ndung’u, Director of Jewell Souls, said, “When we say food is a basic need, most people only hear it in passing. For these children, however, this food is the motivation to stay focused in school and the only thing that keeps them off the streets where they fend for themselves.

In addition to food, Rockey Africa also donated electronic equipment to Laurence Amuli, a young TVET student with a dream of becoming an electrician.

Lawrence is a young man who is passionate about technology and the possible future it holds for him.

Lawrence’s aspirations for formal education were abruptly cut short after primary school due to financial difficulties. Now he is taking a less conventional route by enrolling at a polytechnic to train as an electrician. His ingenuity and talent is evident in a Bluetooth speaker he made all by himself, which he proudly presented to the team during their first visit.

“Our purpose at Rockey Africa is to change one life at a time and hope for a chain reaction. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal chance at life regardless of their background or past. Our partnership with Jewell Souls today is a testament to that commitment, ensuring we do not deny our children a fair chance at life by missing school because of food.” said Robert Kamau Wachira Rockey Africa’s CEO.

Both foundations have joined forces with a shared mission to create lasting, positive change within the community. Their aim is to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to excel in both their academic and personal development.
