Leading gaming firm SportPesa unveiled ten new millionaires on Tuesday, paying out a combined KSh 103.9 million from its various jackpot products and reinforcing its reputation as Kenya’s “factory of millionaires.”
The celebration, which doubled as a viewing party for the Harambee Stars’ African Nations Championship match, took place in Ongata Rongai.
Two winners split the top prize of KSh 69.6 million after each correctly predicted the outcome of a 14/14 SportPeca Mega Jackpot round from August 16-17.
This massive payout arrives just one week after Bonnie Kamau shattered records by claiming the largest-ever SportPesa Mega Jackpot win of KSh 424.6 million.Bernard Kilonzo, a businessman from Eastleigh, emerged as one of the two grand prize winners.
A customer since 2017, Kilonzo expressed his elation at the life-changing windfall.“I am really happy to win the SportPesa Mega Jackpot. This win will help boost my business,” Kilonzo said.
He described his strategy simply, “In a week, I put two Midweek Jackpot bets and two Mega Jackpot bets.”
Alongside Kilonzo and fellow grand prize winner Derrick Kinyua, SportPesa also unveiled Allan Waithaka from Jogoo Road as the latest Midweek Jackpot winner.
The ceremony also recognized five winners who secured KSh 5.3 million each and three others who won KSh 1 million apiece in Mega Jackpot bonus prizes.
SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Manager Willis Ojwang highlighted the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experience beyond its gaming products.
“We are the factory of millionaires and we have proudly lived up to the billing,” Ojwang stated.
He also connected the event to SportPesa’s broader investment in Kenyan sports, citing the firm’s recent bold partnership with the Football Kenya Federation to “take the game to the fans” and elevate the sport.
