The Managing Director of Vivo Energy Kenya, Mr. Peter Murungi, has strongly reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of fuel quality across its extensive network of more than 320 Shell branded retail outlets.
Speaking at a media briefing session at a Shell station in Nairobi, Murungi highlighted the company’s strong quality assurance mechanisms and emphasized that Shell V-Power consistently complies with international fuel standards.
“For the last 100 years, we have offered our customers premium products in the market; V-Power fuel brand meets the RON Standard ratings of 95. Our commitment to quality isn’t just a promise – it’s backed by substantial investment in infrastructure, technology, and human expertise,” Murungi said.

In addition, Vivo Energy Kenya noted that it has set up systems to ensure product quality at various levels. “When the team loads the product at the site, they check the specifications and conduct inspections at an ISO-approved lab in Mombasa, as well as at Shell labs in Nairobi and Mombasa,” noted Murungi.

“We conduct daily tests to check parameters such as colour and water to maintain our fuel quality. Our systems provide instantaneous quality metrics and enable immediate response to any variations in fuel parameters. Shell V-Power helps improve vehicle engine performance for an unmatched driving experience,” he added.
Further, Vivo Energy Kenya highlighted that it has solidified its role as a leader in fuel quality standards, showcasing an unwavering commitment to transparency, innovation, and customer service.
