To fight child hunger and improve child nutrition in Kenya, World Vision Kenya today launched the ENOUGH campaign.

The launch of the “ENOUGH” Campaign initiative underscores the fundamental belief that every child has the inherent right to access adequate food and nutrition, and no child should ever endure the anguish of going to bed hungry.

Her Excellency Rachel Ruto E.G.H, the esteemed First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, graced the launch of the ENOUGH campaign.

Their presence represented the highest level of commitment and support to addressing the pressing issue of child hunger, and marked a significant milestone in the collective effort to ensure the nutritional needs of every child in the country.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal Two (Zero Hunger), the ENOUGH campaign is not just a local effort, but part of a broader global initiative led by World Vision.

With a special focus on children, this global effort aims to eradicate hunger and improve food security for vulnerable populations.

Central to the ENOUGH Campaign is the need to strengthen data collection systems at both national and global levels. By improving the data infrastructure, stakeholders can better identify and reach children in need and ensure they receive the support they need to meet their nutritional needs.

In addition, giving children a voice in shaping policies and outcomes is an integral part of the campaign’s ethos, enabling them to actively participate in decisions that affect their well-being.

Speaking at  the launch, Mr. John Kariuki, the Country Director of World Vision Kenya, emphasized the critical importance of concerted action to tackle child hunger.

He said: “The ENOUGH campaign symbolizes our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child’s right to adequate nutrition is upheld. By joining forces with stakeholders from different sectors, we can work towards a future where no child in Kenya suffers from the scourge of hunger”.

The ENOUGH Campaign is a beacon of hope in the fight against child hunger, signalling a renewed determination to create a world where every child can thrive.

As the campaign progresses, it will bring about significant change. Ultimately, it will ensure that hunger becomes a thing of the past and that the lives of every child are improved.
