Tropikal Brands Afrika Launches ALO, a New Line of Natural Personal Care Products

By Eddah Waithaka

Tropikal Brands Afrika Ltd, a leading local consumer products manufacturer and distributor, has launched a new range of natural personal care products under the ALO brand.

The company invested USD 3 million to develop the line, which includes Body Lotions, Shower Gels, Body Sprays, and Roll-Ons, all infused with high-quality, natural ingredients.

The launch marks a significant step in the company’s mission to deliver innovative, nature-inspired solutions tailored to the modern African consumer.

Speaking at the launch event, Tropikal Brands Afrika Managing Director Davis Mukuria highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability and quality.

“The ALO personal care range reflects our dedication to providing superior, effective, and sustainable skincare and hygiene solutions,” he said. “This launch is a milestone in our journey to meet the growing demand for natural products that resonate with our consumers.”

The team developed the goat milk-enriched Body Lotion as one of the standout innovations in the ALO range, collaborating with Kenyan suppliers and over 500 local farmers.

The lotion harnesses the natural exfoliating properties of lactic acid found in goat milk, offering a gentle yet effective skincare solution.

Additionally, the product line features Aluminum-Free Deodorants, designed to provide 48 hours of freshness while being gentle on the skin.

Mukuria emphasized the company’s role in promoting local agricultural value chains. “By sourcing goat milk extracts from Kenyan farmers, we are not only creating high-quality products but also supporting local economies and fostering agricultural growth,” he said.

“This aligns with our broader sustainability agenda and commitment to job creation.”

The launch comes at a time when Kenya’s personal care market is experiencing a surge in demand for natural and organic products.

Statistics project that the market will reach USD 1.29 billion in 2025, growing at an annual rate of 4.90% through 2030. Increasing consumer awareness of health and environmental concerns drives this trend.

Simon Kabue, Tropikal Brands Afrika’s Head of Commercial, praised the collaboration with local farmers. “We are proud of the journey that brought us here,” he said.

“The support of Kenyan farmers has been instrumental in ensuring we have access to high-quality ingredients for our formulations. This initiative has also created direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to local economic growth.”

The ALO personal care range will be available in leading retail outlets across East and Central Africa, offering consumers access to affordable, natural, and effective skincare solutions.

With this launch, Tropikal Brands Afrika continues to solidify its position as a pioneer in the African personal care industry, blending innovation, sustainability, and community impact.
