Konza Technopolis, Kenya’s flagship smart city project, has joined forces with pan-African executive education provider AUI Global to roll out specialized artificial intelligence (AI) training for its board, staff, and the companies operating within the tech hub.

The two organizations formalized the partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday.

Under the agreement, AUI Global will deliver executive workshops and ISO 17024-certified certification programs designed to build both foundational knowledge and strategic leadership in AI.

“Partnering with Konza Technopolis allows AUI Global to deepen our roots in the Silicon Savannah,” said Deborah Bartlett, Executive Lead at AUI Global.

“Together, we will accelerate AI adoption and literacy in Kenya, ensuring that Kenya’s leaders are certified in AI to responsibly integrate AI to transform Kenyan businesses and society.”

The program targets two key groups: board members and senior staff will receive training to guide governance and strategic implementation, while employees and companies within the Technopolis can register their teams for certification programs.

The curriculum aims to align AI integration with the broader vision of a smart city and digital ecosystem. For AUI Global, the agreement marks a significant milestone in its East African expansion and signals growing institutional recognition of its executive training model.

For Konza, the partnership directly supports its mission to foster innovation and attract investment by building a globally competitive, knowledge-driven economy.

“By teaming up with AUI Global, we are supporting Kenyan companies to achieve and maintain AI dominance,” said John Paul Okwiri, CEO of Konza Technopolis Development Authority.

“This move aptly captures the inspiration behind our vision to be a global Technopolis spurring Kenya’s future through innovations and growing the knowledge economy.”

This first Kenyan agreement adds to AUI Global’s growing portfolio of pan-African partnerships aimed at connecting industry leaders with future-ready technology skills.
