Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge, part of Superior Homes Kenya, has reaffirmed its dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) with a recent initiative at Thugunui Secondary School in Nakuru County. This weekend, the Superior Homes Foundation donated sanitary pads and held a mentorship session, empowering students and addressing key educational and health needs in the community.
The initiative, part of the Foundation’s broader efforts to support education and menstrual health, aims to reduce absenteeism and dropout rates among girls. Thugunui Secondary School is one of six schools in the Elementaita region benefiting from the program.
During the visit, the team consequently distributed over 200 packets of sanitary pads, ensuring girls have essential hygiene products for the next three months.

Mr. Mahinda Maina, Principal of Thugunui Secondary School, highlighted the transformative impact of the donations. “These contributions have significantly reduced absenteeism among girls and are crucial for their academic completion,” he said.
Beyond the donations, the Foundation engaged students in interactive discussions focused on academic success, personal growth, and career aspirations. These mentorship sessions inspire students, equipping them with the confidence and resources to stay in school and reach their full potential.
Patrick Njoroge, General Manager of Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge, emphasized the importance of community support. “As stakeholders, we are committed to ensuring the prosperity of this community. By providing feminine hygiene products, we help girls stay in school throughout the year while maintaining their dignity,” he noted.
The Superior Homes Foundation continues to expand its reach, forging partnerships and addressing menstrual health as a critical barrier to education. Currently, the Foundation supports 10,109 girls across 34 schools in Kenya through monthly restocking of sanitary pads and mentorship programs.
This initiative underscores the Foundation’s dedication to creating lasting change and empowering the next generation of leaders. Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge and the Superior Homes Foundation are transforming lives and exemplifying how businesses can create meaningful social impact.
