Africa for Haiti, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy and other members of the diplomatic community, as well as partners and sponsors, unveils the Harmony for Haiti Concert, a transformative global initiative designed to inspire hope, raise awareness and mobilize support for Haiti’s recovery and stability.
Harmony for Haiti will be held in June 2024 at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi, Kenya.
This landmark event will bring together renowned international artists from over 20 countries contributing to the UN-led mission in Haiti, with Kenya leading the way. Countries such as Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, Surname, Bahamas, Spain, Italy, Senegal, Burundi, Mali, Benin and others.
Diplomats, humanitarian advocates and global citizens will also be invited to unite and help Haiti when it needs it most.
Africa 4 Haiti Chief Officer Edward Githaiga said during a press conference at the JW Marriott: “As Haiti faces ongoing crises and challenges, including gang violence, political instability and socio-economic hardship, the Harmony for Haiti Concert serves as a beacon of solidarity and compassion.

“Through the universal language of music, cultural showcases and inspirational messages, the Concert aims to, one, raise awareness, shedding the light on Haiti’s realities and complexities, educating audiences and fostering empathy. Two, mobilizing support, rallying individuals, organizations and governments worldwide to contribute resources and initiatives towards Haiti’s recovery. Three, promoting unity, bringing together diverse stakeholders to collaborate, advocate and work together towards sustainable solutions for Haiti,” the Chief Officer added.
There will be outstanding performances and engaging activities. The concert will feature a line-up of renowned international and local artists.
“Currently, we are already in discussion with Wyclef John among other artists,” said Mr. Edward.
“Even in Senegal, we are hoping to get Acon and other artists to be part of it. And we are also coming up with an anthem for the Concert so that we can then highlight and amplify the struggle of Haiti today,” he added.
Additionally, there will be cultural showcases, guest speakers and interactive activities which is set to enrich the Concert’s experience.
“To sum up, we would like to show appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially Dr. Abraham Korir SingOei, Principal Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora affairs, when he attended today’s breakfast session, he gave a commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of Cultural Diplomacy and gave us an assurance that they are going to support the Concert fully and we’re very grateful for that.”

“We are also very grateful for the Ambassador of Romania, who has also shown commitment and also for the other ambassadors of Cuba, the representative of Senegal, the representative of Bangladesh and the other representatives of the ambassadors who were with us in the meeting.”
