The Museum of Illusions (MOI), the world’s fastest-growing museum chain, marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its latest location in Nairobi on January 24, 2025.
The museum will officially open its doors to the public on January 25, 2025. Situated on the Ground Floor of Laxon Court Plaza in Parklands, the Nairobi Museum of Illusions becomes part of a global network of over 50 museums, including renowned cities like New York, Las Vegas, Paris, Istanbul, Madrid, Dubai, and South Africa.
This latest location features over 60 captivating exhibits that deliver a unique blend of optical illusions, immersive environments, holograms, and stereograms. Catering to visitors of all ages, the museum harmoniously combines educational experiences with entertainment, ensuring an unforgettable exploration of the intriguing realm of illusions.
Speaking at the launch, Jonathan Cooper, CEO of the Museum of Illusions, expressed excitement saying, “We are thrilled to bring the Museum of Illusions to Nairobi, offering a new and unique experience to all consumers and providing a platform for edutainment. We welcome all to come and immerse themselves in a world that will challenge their minds and provide a playground for their senses. We aim to inspire our visitors to see the world in new ways and provide a platform for learning and exploration.”

Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Tourism Hon. Rebecca Miano E.G.H said, “With tourism being one of the key drivers of our economy, the Museum of Illusion will attract visitors from across the globe, eager to experience its unique offerings. Beyond that, I believe it will be a place where young people, students, and curious minds of all ages can come to explore the wonders of human imagination.”
To honor Kenya’s vibrant artistry and cultural heritage, the Museum of Illusions has partnered with prominent local artists to develop unique exhibits.
Among them is Moha, the Father of Matatu Culture, showcasing the Reversed Room, which draws inspiration from Nairobi’s famous matatus. Lulu Kitololo brings a fresh perspective on Kenyan female figures by reimagining traditional jewelry and textiles. Additionally, Brian Omolo presents a mural that reflects the essence of Nairobi’s urban culture.
These collaborations showcase the Museum of Illusions’ dedication to honoring and elevating Kenyan talent while providing an engaging and culturally meaningful experience. The Museum of Illusions Nairobi aims to serve as an educational and cultural center in Kenya, offering significant advantages to the nation, its schools, and the government. By fostering a platform for learning and encouraging critical thinking among students, the museum aligns with the country’s educational goals.
In addition, to enhance local tourism, stimulate economic growth in the nation, and generate a variety of job opportunities both directly and indirectly, thereby making a meaningful contribution to Kenya’s social and economic progress.
The museum’s opening hours are Monday to Wednesday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Thursday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
