Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has ruled out the possibility of being part of Ruto’s new cabinet.
He spoke on Thursday after rumours emerged that he was being considered for the post of attorney general, which has yet to be filled.
Ruto is yet to name the appointees to the Office of the Attorney General and the Ministry of East African Community and ASAL Affairs.

Kalonzo said he was not ready for a Ruto appointment, calling it a “mirage” and adding: “I think he’s expecting too much.
“Nobody has offered any position to me or to Wiper. That thing about Attorney General is a mirage. I may be senior counsel which is okay, maybe that’s the attraction but this guy has been vice president of the republic and has been minister in many portfolios, do you expect me serve to serve Ruto as Attorney General?” Kalonzo said.
Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni also noted that the Azimio coalition needed a leader because of Raila Odinga’s aspirations to chair the African Union Commission (AUC). In response, the coalition appointed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as its leader.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has effectively led us during Raila’s absence, and we believe he will continue to steer the coalition forward. As Raila focuses on his AUC campaign, we trust Kalonzo to guide us,” Kioni said.

The coalition also addressed the recent appointment of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) members to President William Ruto’s cabinet, which Azimio did not support.
Kioni criticized Ruto’s cabinet appointments, describing them as detrimental to Kenya’s multi-party system and contrary to constitutional principles and the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO).
The presser emphasized that ODM members who accepted cabinet positions did so in their personal capacity, and notably, no ODM representatives attended the briefing nor issued any apologies.
