Menzies Aviation Kenya has launched a landmark partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) and Child Fund to empower young Kenyans through rugby and life skills training.
The initiative, dubbed the Pass It Back program, aims to nurture leadership, teamwork, and personal development among youth in underserved communities.
Mohamed Dambi Dawood, General Manager of Menzies Aviation Kenya, emphasized the company’s commitment to community impact.
“We believe in giving back to the communities where we operate,” Dawood said. “This partnership allows us to support Kenyan youth by teaching them valuable life skills through sports, preparing them for future success.”
The program will combine rugby coaching with mentorship, focusing on leadership, discipline, and resilience. The first phase will launch in the Rift Valley and Nairobi regions, targeting schools in underprivileged areas.
Thomas Odundo, CEO of Kenya Rugby Union, highlighted the long-term vision. “This is not a one-off project, it’s a sustainable, two-year initiative,” Odundo said.
“We aim to build a strong foundation for rugby while shaping responsible, skilled young individuals who can contribute positively to society.”
The first season runs from July to December 2024, with the second phase beginning in early 2025.
Menzies Aviation, KRU, and Child Fund plan to expand the program to other regions, ensuring lasting benefits for Kenya’s next generation.
