This highly anticipated match promises a thrilling display of skill, determination, and passion as both teams vie for glory in Kenya’s premier women’s football tournament.

Road to the Final

Kibera Soccer Women stormed into the final after a stunning 2-0 victory over defending champions Kenya Police Bullets in the semifinals.

Vihiga Queens, four-time Kenyan Women’s Premier League winners, secured their spot with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Bungoma Queens.

The final was initially scheduled for 14th June but was postponed to allow Harambee Starlets to compete in the 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship in Tanzania.

Coaches and Players Ready for Battle

David Vijago, Kibera Soccer’s head coach, acknowledged the challenge ahead: “Vihiga Queens is a tough team. Last time, we won on penalties after a 1-1 draw. This time, we’re leaving nothing to chance—we’re here to win.”

Vihiga Queens will rely on star forward Swaumu Masungo, a former Plateau Queens player, to lead their attack.

betPawa’s Commitment to Women’s Football

This year’s tournament, powered by betPawa Kenya, has seen 32 teams compete, with KES 4.3 million distributed through the Locker Room Bonus (LRB) initiative direct financial rewards for players and staff.

Cynthia Onyango, betPawa Kenya Partner, said, “We’re proud to support women’s football. This final showcases the talent and dedication of these athletes, and we remain committed to empowering the sport.”

A New Champion Will Rise

With three-time winners Ulinzi Starlets knocked out in the quarterfinals, the trophy is guaranteed to go to a new champion.

Kerubo Momanyi, FKF NEC Women’s Representative, urged fans to fill the stadium, “This final celebrates the growth of women’s football. Let’s rally behind these players as they inspire future generations.”
