Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd (MRM) officially handed over a newly constructed classroom block at Nyanjoro Primary School on Thursday, marking a significant upgrade from initial repair plans.
The Safal MRM Foundation, the company’s social investment arm, executed the project. The new block now provides a safe and modern learning environment for pupils and teachers.
CEO Albert Sigei addressed the gathering, explaining how the project scaled from a simple repair to a full construction.
“A site assessment showed the existing structures could not safely support new roofing,” Sigei said. “We prioritized learner safety and long-term impact, choosing to build a complete, modern classroom block instead.”
The initiative aligns with the company’s Education Pillar and directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education.
Sigei emphasized that the project tackles critical infrastructure challenges that previously disrupted daily learning.
