In a significant development for the African business community, Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the esteemed Chair of the World Chambers Federation (WCF), officially announced on July 26, 2024, that the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and Nairobi have been selected to host the inaugural WCF Africa Summit in June 2025. This landmark event is expected to bring together chamber leaders, business executives, and policymakers from across the continent, fostering dialogue and collaboration to drive economic growth and enhance trade opportunities in Africa.
This prestigious event is a milestone for Kenya and KNCCI. The selection followed a highly competitive bidding process in which we stood out from a number of formidable competitors. Our successful bid is a testament to KNCCI’s robust efforts and the unwavering support of our partners.
The Summit will attract over 4,500 participants from around the globe, including key stakeholders from various sectors. This gathering will signal to the world our confidence in Kenya as a regional hub and the strength of our private sector.
The WCF Africa Summit is not just a conference, it is a critical opportunity to
opportunity to shape the future of trade and industry on our continent.
In the past, WCF has organized influential summits around the world, and for the first time, Africa will have the honour of hosting this important event.

It aims to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Africa and beyond to foster dialogue, collaboration, and economic growth.
“We anticipate that the Summit will attract over 4,500 participants from around
the +70 countries across Africa and the Globe, including key stakeholders from
various sectors, ” said the President of KNCCI Dr. Erick Rutto.
“This gathering will signal to the world our confidence in Kenya as a regional hub and
the strength of our private sector. It will also highlight Kenya’s critical role in the
African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and underscore our position as a key investment destination,” he added.
The President of KNCCI also said they would work with the government, the private sector, regional blocs and the
blocs and the international community at large to create a platform that will address the pressing issues facing the business sector and explore new opportunities for growth.
“At KNCCI, our rich global network and dedicated trade missions have been
instrumental in achieving this honor. This Summit aligns perfectly with our agenda to
promote economic development, facilitate trade, and foster a conducive business
environment in Kenya and Africa at large,” he said.
