KURA Director General Eng. Silas Kinoti, EBS, Backs the NYOTA Project

By John Kariuki

The Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Eng. Silas Kinoti, EBS, has expressed strong support for the government’s National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project, describing it as a bold step toward empowering young people to take charge of Kenya’s development future.

Eng. Kinoti noted that national youth opportunities should go beyond employment creation to focus on empowerment, innovation, and ownership of the nation’s progress.

“National youth opportunities are not just about employment, they are about empowerment, innovation, and ownership of our nation’s future,” he said.

He emphasized that KURA remains committed to providing an enabling environment for young people to learn, lead, and contribute meaningfully to Kenya’s infrastructure and economic transformation.

“At KURA, we continue to create spaces where young people can learn, lead, and leave a lasting mark on Kenya’s development journey,” added Eng. Kinoti.

The NYOTA Project, financed by the World Bank and implemented under the leadership of President Dr. William Ruto, seeks to equip youth across the country with employability skills, mentorship, and startup capital enabling them to learn, earn, and prosper.
