This June, DStv and GOtv flip the script on the usual subscription model. The two pay-TV giants launch “Open Time,” a month-long promotion that gives customers more channels, more drama, and more action, without asking for a single extra shilling.
From 1 June to 30 June, the companies automatically upgrade subscribers to a higher package at no additional cost. Customers don’t need to opt in, dial a secret code, or beg customer service. They simply pay for their current plan, and DStv or GOtv does the rest.
“You get more than you pay for,” the companies promise. “More drama, more action, more sport, more kids’ content, all on us.”
How the upgrade works:
DStv subscribers:
· DStv Compact+ and Compact jump to DStv Premium
· Family+ and Family climb to DStv Compact
· DStv Access moves up to DStv Family
· (DStv Lite is not eligible for this upgrade)
GOtv subscribers:
· GOtv Supa and Max rise to Supa+
· GOtv Plus upgrades to GOtv Max
· (GOtv Value and Lite are not eligible)
The system applies the upgrade automatically to any decoder once the account shows an active, fully paid status. Whether customers stay connected, reconnect a dormant line, or join as a new subscriber during June, the moment payment reflects, the extra channels appear.
At the end of the promotion, subscriptions revert to their usual package – no surprises, no hidden renewals.
Customers can stay connected or reconnect using the DStv website, the MyDStv App (available on App Store and Play Store), USSD *423#, banking channels, or in-person payment points.
“This June, get more than you pay for – simply stay connected and enjoy more… On us!”
