New Showmax Dramedy ‘Adam to Eve’ Puts a Magical Twist on a Battle of the Sexes

By Editor

A magical curse turns a Nairobi playboy into a woman, forcing him to confront his own misogyny in Showmax’s provocative new original dramedy, Adam to Eve, premiering November 26, 2025.

The series stars Blessing Lungaho (Untying Kantai) as Adam, a charismatic but callous man who treats women as disposable pleasures.

A mysterious spell abruptly transforms him into Eve, launching a comedic and profound journey where he must navigate the world from a woman’s perspective.

To break the curse, Adam-turned-Eve must team up with his introverted twin brother and embark on a reluctant path of good deeds and self-discovery.

The award-winning creative duo Lizz Njagah and Alex Konstantaras (House of Lungula) helm the project, promising a blend of sharp humor and social commentary.

Konstantaras leads as head writer, supported by a team including Yafesi Musioke and Serah Mwihaki (Single Kiasi). Aggie Nyagari (Janjaruka) co-directs with Konstantaras.“At its heart, Adam to Eve is a story about walking in someone else’s shoes quite literally,” says Executive Producer Lizz Njagah.

“The show uses humor to spark reflection on how we perceive gender and privilege, while reminding us that change often begins with understanding.”

Head writer and co-director Alex Konstantaras adds, “With Adam to Eve, we wanted to blend fantasy and comedy with socially resonant themes. The series is unapologetically funny, deeply Kenyan, and reflective of the vibrant, evolving conversations happening across Africa about identity and equality.”

Produced by Historia Films, the series boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast of Kenyan favourites. The lineup features Ellah Maina (Sincerely Daisy), Celestine Gachuhi (Selina), Kieran Ratanya (Varshita), and a host of other notable talents including Mathew Ngugi, Gashiki Gashiki, and Winnie Anyango.

Adam to Eve joins Showmax’s growing slate of high-quality local originals, using a fantastical premise to explore timely themes of empathy, redemption, and the realities of gender dynamics.

Mark your calendars for a transformative binge on November 26.
