Nairobi Hospital assures public: ‘We are fully operational and stable’

By Eddah Waithaka

The Nairobi Hospital has moved to reassure staff, patients and stakeholders that it remains fully operational and stable, with clinical and support teams delivering services across all departments as normal.

In a statement issued Saturday, the hospital emphasized its continued commitment to providing quality healthcare to patients and the wider community despite ongoing governance matters currently before the courts.

For more than seven decades, The Nairobi Hospital has operated under the Articles of Association of the Kenya Hospital Association, which provide the governance framework guiding oversight, accountability and institutional stewardship.

The hospital affirmed that this framework continues to underpin its commitment to transparency, responsible management and high standards of governance.

The hospital acknowledged matters currently before the courts concerning governance issues but noted these form part of an ongoing judicial process and are therefore sub judice.

Accordingly, the institution deemed it inappropriate to comment further on them at this time. The Nairobi Hospital further clarified that official communication on behalf of the institution issues only through the Office of the Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr. Barclay Onyambu, or the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Felix Osano.

Any statements circulating outside these channels should not regard as official communication from The Nairobi Hospital, the institution cautioned.

The reassurance comes as one of Kenya’s premier healthcare facilities seeks to maintain public confidence while navigating legal proceedings. The hospital remains open to the public and continues to serve patients across all departments without interruption.
