What Women Want Summit Returns for Fourth Edition, Bringing Regional Leaders Together for Three Days of Empowerment and Dialogue

By Eddah Waithaka

The fourth edition of the What Women Want Summit opens March 27 at the Trademark Hotel, gathering some of East Africa’s most influential women for three days of candid conversations, strategic networking, and immersive lifestyle experiences.

PinKE Media organizes the summit in partnership with Johnnie Walker under its #SheWalks platform. In just three years, the event has emerged as East Africa’s premier gathering focused on women’s leadership, economic empowerment, and holistic development.

Since its launch in 2023, the forum transcends the typical summit format. It provides a carefully curated safe space where women challenge ambition, dismantle barriers, and reimagine possibilities.

This year’s edition expands its scope even further.More than 100 industry leaders and changemakers will take the stage across 30 curated panel discussions and 10 immersive sessions over the three days.

Under the theme “Bold, Visionary, Capable, and Unstoppable,” the programming covers career mobility, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital influence, wellness, beauty, fashion, and social impact, delivering a deliberate 360-degree view of modern womanhood.

Kenyan women face increasing professional expectations and shifting social norms, and the summit’s agenda reflects both their hopes and realities.

Discussions will focus on expanding businesses in a digital-first economy, navigating leadership roles traditionally dominated by men, protecting mental health in high-performance environments, and building intergenerational wealth.

Maureen Osoro, Marketing Manager of Spirits at East African Breweries Limited, explained the long-standing partnership with What Women Want.

“Through our #SheWalks platform, we remain dedicated to celebrating women’s accomplishments and creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue, mentorship, and growth,” Osoro said.

“The What Women Want Summit strongly aligns with our goal to inspire progress and promote inclusion.”Pinky Ghelani, founder of PinKE Media and host of the summit, described the gathering as intentionally evolving.”The What Women Want Summit was created as a safe, powerful space where women can learn, connect, and elevate each other,” Ghelani said.

“Each year, we intentionally focus on growing not just in size but also in relevance and depth. This edition reflects the changing ambitions of women today.”

Beyond panel discussions, attendees will enjoy curated lifestyle activities that combine learning with celebration. Johnnie Walker will host a signature social event as part of its program, transforming the gathering into a space for strategy, solidarity, and celebration.

Previous editions attracted thousands of participants from corporate boardrooms, creative industries, policy sectors, and grassroots organizations.

Organizers expect the fourth edition to amplify its impact by incorporating emerging themes such as digital transformation, mental wellness, and women’s participation in both formal and informal economies.

As the summit enters its fourth year, it solidifies its position as a leading regional platform for advancing women’s leadership and economic participation.

The discussions at the Trademark Hotel will spark collaborations, elevate aspirations, and create impact extending far beyond the conference rooms.Tickets are now available for purchase at Mookh.
