Reprising her role as the sassy Mariah, reality TV queen Minne makes her highly anticipated return to Single Kiasi Season 4 and owns the screen with a fiercer presence than ever.
This season, Mariah rebounds from her dramatic breakup with Dixon (Jimmy Gathu) by diving headfirst into a new relationship, proving she remains as fierce and fearless as ever.
In an exclusive interview, Minne unpacked motherhood, marriage, and the challenges of shooting intimate scenes, offering a glimpse into the woman behind the iconic character.
From Setbacks to Success
Discipline Over Glamour Fans know her for stealing scenes on The Real Housewives of Nairobi and Single Kiasi, but Minne revealed her career almost ended before it truly began.
“I was this close to walking away,” she confessed. “The money just wasn’t making sense.” She credits her husband, Lugz, as her rock, cheering her on through every high and low. Landing Single Kiasi changed everything.
“I remember praying and telling God, ‘This better be it.’ Four years later, here I am.”She now juggles a thriving acting career with running a construction business, a feat she attributes to sheer discipline.
“My call times can be insane and I am still a mum, a lactating mum at that. Balancing it all isn’t magic, it’s pure focus, determination, and hard work.”
No Authenticity and a New Vulnerability to Mariah
After a very public struggle with infertility and a miscarriage, Minne channeled her personal journey into her performance. “Loss changes you. It strips away the filters,” she shared.
She brought that newfound vulnerability straight to the Season 4 set, portraying a softer, more open Mariah who fights for her friendships.“This enabled me to portray Mariah as someone who is willing to fight for her friendships.
That’s real for me. I don’t want to lose the people who matter.”This season also tests Mariah’s independence. “Without revealing too much, viewers will finally see her talented side,” Minne teased.
“She’s a natural-born marketer expect to see Mariah in an office, doing her thing, proving she doesn’t need anyone to prop her up.”
Minne’s Non-Negotiables
After more than a decade of marriage, Minne’s standards remain sky-high. She openly declares herself a “gold digger,” but with a crucial distinction: “I’m digging gold, not dirt. Poverty? No thanks.”
“I like my life a certain way. I want to drive a German machine and I will drive a German machine. Period. Full stop,” she stated.
“There’s no shame in wanting more, demanding better, and living large.”Changing the Narrative and a Preview of Season 4The most challenging scenes to shoot this season? The intimate ones.
“Things get hot, and shooting those scenes was no walk in the park,” she said, hinting that fans will see a whole new side to her character. She also continues to use her platform to change narratives around womanhood and infertility.
“Vulnerability isn’t a weakness, it’s strength,” she asserted. “When I openly share my story, it gives other women courage to step out of the shadows.”
And for a final teaser? We asked a few quick-fire questions. She crowned her co-star Gathoni Mutua (Sintamei) the karaoke champion, chose the eggplant emoji to describe the season with a chuckle, and picked The Chocolate Empire as her dream Kenyan show for a crossover.
Single Kiasi Season 4 premieres this month.
