The stories that defined Showmax are not disappearing. They are moving into a new home: DStv Stream, where a dedicated Showmax section brings acclaimed originals and fan favorites together with live TV, sport, and a broader range of entertainment, all inside one app.
Eligible Showmax subscribers will receive trial access to DStv Stream Compact for a limited period as part of this transition.
After the trial, qualifying customers can continue on DStv Stream Compact at a special price of KES 550 per month for 12 months, provided they keep their subscription active and payments up to date.

How the trial access works
Eligible Showmax subscribers will receive free trial access to DStv Stream Compact until the end of May. The offer and sign-up details will arrive via the email address linked to their Showmax account.
Who qualifies
Showmax subscribers without an active DStv subscription who subscribe directly to Showmax. The offer includes all Showmax plans, including Showmax Premier League.
Existing DStv customers who already receive Showmax content as part of their package do not qualify.
Showmax subscriptions will not migrate automatically. Customers who wish to continue watching must follow the simple sign-up process for DStv Stream shared via email and create a new profile, a process that takes less than five minutes.
Customers who choose not to move to DStv Stream may request a refund for any unused portion of their Showmax subscription, subject to standard terms and conditions. Autopayments to Showmax will stop automatically once the service discontinues.The Showmax platform closes on 30 April 2026. Showmax Originals will continue exclusively on DStv Stream.
What to watch on DStv Stream
The dedicated Showmax section will feature standout titles including the 2026 Kalasha-nominated Big Girl Small World, Subterranea, Single Kiasi, The Chocolate Empire, Mizani, and Adam to Eve, alongside pan-African hits such as Adulting.
International on-demand content includes various Real Housewives series, Starfleet Academy, The Burbs, and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.T
These join tens of thousands of hours of on-demand movies and series plus more than 100 live channels streaming 24/7—all available on DStv Compact or DStv Premium.

DStv Compact, Compact Plus, and Premium customers will benefit from access to Showmax content on DStv Stream at no additional cost.Sport stays in the gameSport remains a key part of the experience.
Through SuperSport, subscribers can watch the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and LaLiga, plus additional SuperSport channels. Unlike Showmax Premier League, which worked only on mobile devices, DStv Stream streams on smart TVs and mobile devices alike.
The new setup delivers the best of both worlds: popular local originals alongside premium international channels, kids’ boxsets of Cocomelon, Blippi, and Superstrikas, and world-class sport, reinforcing DStv as Africa’s most comprehensive entertainment platform.
